Champagne Moussé Fils | Spécial Club Rosé de Saignée 2016 | Champagne A.O.C. (100% Meunier)

Since 2005 Moussé Fils have had the privilege of belonging to the "Club Trésors de Champagne" whose rules are extremely strict. In fact the criteria to be accepted as a ‘Club champagne‘ are far more demanding than for anything else on the market. In keeping with these demands our Cuvée Special Club is a champagne of outstanding quality, a testament to our wine making skill and to the excellence that the Champagne region can produce. It is also the first 100 % Meunier champagne to be admitted into the club. A real guarantee of quality for your taste buds Special Club Rules

All 25 members of the Club use the same shaped bottle but the champagne is their own. To qualify for the Special Club the champagne must be a vintage from a very good year. The still wines from the harvest are submitted to a jury of 5 people, including 3 oenologists, for a blind tasting. Before being allowed to proceed to blending and bottling, the wines must be awarded a score of at least 15 out of 25 and must also have the approval of 4 out of the 5 jury members. Then 3 years later, when the champagne has been made, it has to be tasted and tested again by the same jury using the same selection criteria. Any champagne that doesn’t pass this second hurdle cannot be sold as a Special Club champagne and must be used for other labels.

Cuvée Spécial Club spends 60 months ageing in our cellars.

2008 was a great year for Meunier as you’ll soon realise when tasting Cuvée Spécial Club. Streams of persistent, tiny bubbles make this champagne very pleasing on the eye. The nose reveals the typical Meunier aromas of white peaches and a remarkable finesse, whilst the palate is full and round with wonderful length. A champagne not to be missed!
